I’ve been wanting to photograph the Salk Institute for some time now. During a trip to La Jolla this past weekend, I finally got a chance to do so. Here are a few images of the courtyard shot using the X-T1 and XF 14mm. For the first three long exposure images, I used the Lee Seven5 system which I’m finding myself using more and more.

    Hi,

I’m thinking of taking photos at Salk too. I read online that they’re closed on the weekends. It sounds like you went to Salk on a weekend and I was wondering how you were able to get in.

    Great shots by the way!

      Hi Emily,

You are correct, the courtyard is closed on the weekends. I actually shot these on a Friday afternoon. I believe the institute is open till 6pm on weekdays, definitely worth the visit if you can make it during those hours.
